This has been newly renovated with
a new wooden floor and people are required to bring a change
of clean dry shoes, either sneakers (smoother soles have less
traction and are better, allowing for easy turning) or flat
soft-soled dance shoes. (Please, no hard soled, or black rubber
soled shoes that leave marks.) Please change shoes on the
entrance mat to help prevent outside dirt from getting on
the wooden floor.
Tyler Terrace is located off Centre Street
between Beacon Street and Commonwealth Avenue.
By Car
From North and South:
- Exit 19A off Rte. 128/I-95 (Highland
Avenue).
- Left at 3rd light onto Winchester (road becomes
Centre Street).
- Go through Newton Centre, crossing Beacon Street
(a big intersection with light).
- Go left at 3rd block (Tyler Terrace).
- Jeannette West Recreation Center is on right past
playground.
- Parking is available on the street.
From Boston and Cambridge:
- Exit 17 off Mass. Pike/I-90 West (Newton/Watertown).
- Keep in left lane (Newton), go straight at lights
at top of ramp, then stay left crossing over Mass. Pike/I-90.
- Next right onto Centre Street.
- Go 1.7 miles and turn right onto Tyler Terrace
just after park.
- Jeannette West Recreation Center is on right past
playground.
- Parking is available on the street.

- Exit station and turn left.
- Walk to the end of the street and it will join Beacon
Street just before the light with Centre Street.
- Cross Beacon Street and Centre Street at
the light and walk down Centre Street. You will be
walking with shops on your left, and a parking lot on the
right.
- Go left at 3rd block (Tyler Terrace).
- Jeannette West Recreation Center is a short distance
down on right just past playground.
