International Lindy Hop Workshop Series

Jeff Booth
&
Marina Glezin

from Washington, DC

Saturday, October 13, 2001

Cambridge, MA

A Special Day of Dean Collins Styling

From the Washington DC area, Jeff has been dancing for more than four years. His focus and love is swing era Lindy Hop. He has learned from studying the history extensively, spending countless hours watching swing era dance footage, as well as talking to many of the dancers from that period. He placed in the 1998 American Lindy Hop Championships and US Open Lindy divisions. He has taught in many places around the country such as Detroit (Motor City Jam), Philadelphia, Houston (H-Town, Great Southwest Lindy Fest), Austin (Swing Riot), and of course, DC.

Jeff is teaming up with Marina, who recently moved to DC from Santa Barbara, California. She has studied extensively with Sylvia Sykes (who learned directly from Dean Collins) and is well versed in Lindy Hop as well as Balboa.

Adding on to the basics, working on moves and variations, such as Dean's Flying Lindy.
D 5:15-6:15pm Dean Collins Shim Sham (Part 2)

Continues where Part 1 left off, adding on to complete the routine. This half is mostly steps unique to Dean's version of the Shim Sham.
