Ruggles Baptist Church
(near Fenway Park)
874 Beacon Street
Boston, MA 02215
Please bring a pair of clean comfortable shoes for dancing to help protect the wooden floor. Please change shoes on the entrance mat to help prevent outside wet, salt and grit from getting on the wooden floor. With classes on the 3rd floor, it is required to wear either suede (or chrome leather) soled shoes or clean sneakers (no leather or hard soled shoes).
Located on Beacon Street at the intersection of Park Drive, very near the Brookline-Boston border. It is a few blocks west of Kenmore Square near Fenway Park and on the edge of the South Campus of Boston University.
Parking
On-street parking has often been plentiful on Beacon Street, including on the bridge, as well as some of the surrounding streets in Boston. (Crossing into Brookline may be different.) Be sure to check street signs as some streets have one side as resident parking only in the evening.
There are also 4 spaces in the lot behind Ruggles Church that can be used. These are clearly marked as belonging to Ruggles Church and are along the wall directly behind the church. Do not park in any of the other spaces in that lot as they belong to other residents and you may be towed!
There is a small driveway belonging to the church at the corner where we usually park our gray Prius. We can squeeze 3 cars on the driveway and it is okay to park behind our car (as long as it is empty when we arrive and are able to pull our car all the way forward on the righthand side). Please do not park on the grass or be anywhere on the sidewalk! There is not enough space to park behind a car on the lefthand side of the driveway without overhanging onto the sidewalk.
Additional parking can be found in several nearby parking garages.
Special Red Sox Parking: When the Red Sox have a home game, parking is more challenging due to being in the vicinity of Fenway Park. All of the Boston information is the same, however Brookline has special game day rates designed to discourage game goers from parking and keeping the meters available for others, such as people going to dance class:-) On game nights, it may be easier to find on street parking in Brookline, which is only 1 block west.
